(Full Review) I can't say enough about Remarkable Movers and his band of movers. We were their third move on a rainy Saturday night and these guys were amazing. They worked like horses and pretty much made jokes and laughed the whole time. A few things broke, but I don't think I packed those things well enough. I have never used movers before and working with Remarkable Movers was a pleasurable experience. Earlier on the day of the move, Remarkable Movers gave me a call to let me know that they were a little behind. It didn't matter to me much and when it came time to pay the bill, they knocked off a hefty sum to compensate for the delay. I can't say this enough, these guys were great and you'd be crazy to not give them a try when you move again.

Mike worked with me to figure out what I needed - 3 guys for 4 hours to move my Loft into a third-floor flat with no elevator. I packed boxed myself before they arrived - his guys loaded everything up, and lugged all my boxes and heavy furniture up the stairs at my new place. The guys were professional, cheerful, and helpful - and MAN did they hustle! And they managed to get my giant dresser up and over the staircase - a miracle! I researched ten or so movers on City Search. I contacted most for quotes and was not comfortable with a by-the-hour move. Remarkable Movers allowed me to fix a price for my move, with NO hidden fees, charges, taxes, etc. The price I negotiated was exactly the price I paid. The movers arrived early . The crew of 4 workers and a "foreman" worked quickly, carefully, and respectfully. Remarkable Movers was not the cheapest company, but I got very good value for my money. I would use the company again without hesitation and would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Everything about them is professional and efficient. You tell them an inventory of what you are moving and they give you a price. It's not based on how long it takes, so if you are moving out of the city (as I was) and the movers get stuck in traffic (they did), there's no need to worry. No extra costs. They email you a contract to sign so there are no suprises and then ask you to reconfirm with their dispatch department 2 days before the move. I was happily surprised to receive a phone call on Memorial Day to confirm again the details of my move the next day. There was no doubt that they guys were going to show up as promised. The moving team was great. They were fast but careful. Moving is stressful but Remarkable Movers made it painless.

From the very start of my move when calling to get an estimate, we received excellent service. All our questions were answered and explained. The staff was polite, patient and very knowledgeable. I've moved long distance twice before, and our experience with New York Moving Company Movers so far exceed the others, they don't come close. The workers were very efficient, patient and courteous, not only to us, but to neighbors when they offered to move the van so they could get their cars out. All of these employees are the best they can get. We have already recommended them to several people who are considering a move.

When I was planning this move I knew I could count on my friends for heavy lifting but we absolutely had no time to pack. So we decided to rent a truck and move ourselves but have professionals provide the materials and do the packing. I interviewed 3 moving companies including Manhattan Movers Inc. When Mike showed up to do the estimate he was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable. He gave me flexible options and presented quotes both for a complete move and for packing only. His quote fell in the middle of the three. Initially I almost hired the cheapest guy but he turned out to be a complete psycho (subject of another review), which once again confirmed for me that one should never make decisions based on price alone. So we hired Mike and his guys. They gave me a "not to exceed" price for packing, showed up on time, worked fast and treated our stuff *as if it was their own*. Everything got packed amazingly safe and not a single thing was lost or damaged. They ended up going over time but stuck to the promised fee and in fact REDUCED the price because they used less materials than estimated. They did such a great job that I felt compelled to bring the payment back up to the original estimate. I will not hesitate to hire them again and will highly recommend them to anybody who asks.

These guys are remarkable. My Wife and I are building a new home and the closing has been postponed 4 times (what a nightmare!!!). Manhattan Movers Inc. has made this debacle much easier to handle because of his phenomenal customer service, polite follow-ups, and professionalism. Moving/building is neither stress free nor easy, and Manhattan Movers Inc. has allowed me to worry about one less thing and remove one more "to-do" off of my list. Consultation for move was professional and had excellent suggestions while taking the time to listen to me. Affordable prices and worth every penny!

Wow! All I can say is wow! These guys made my move so incredibly easy. I was moving into a luxury condominium building that has very strict insurance requirements. A woman named Erica from the mover's office immediately contacted me once I accepted their bid. She and I were in contact the entire time up until the day of the move. She was available all of the time and even responded to my e-mails on weekend. She was extremely helpful in providing all of the paperwork my building needed. She worked directly with the management company and I did not even need to be involved. About a week before the move I needed to add my big screen TV to the job. They were more than willing to accommodate my request and we negotiated an additional fee for the TV. On the day of the move, they were 15 minutes early, which was impressive based on my experience with other movers. They brought an extra mover who was not originally in the quote and did not charge me extra. They knew exactly what they were doing and had an assembly line of moving boxes out the door and pushing them on rolling carts to the service elevator and out to the truck. They wrapped my sofa and bookcases before moving them. My big screen TV is incredibly awkward to move and they did a phenomenal job of wrapping the whole thing and they carefully moved it to the truck. They had moved me out of my old apartment in 1.5 hours including 60 boxes and several pieces of furniture. They drove the four blocks to my new apartment and started moving everything into the new place immediately. They were extremely careful on the move-in and asked me where each piece should go. They were courteous and efficient the entire time. None of my items were damaged and there were no marks on any of the walls. They unwrapped all of the wrapped items before they finished. In total, it only took them 3 hours and 15 minutes to move me from my old apartment to the new one, which is incredibly impressive. I ended up having more stuff than originally planned and they did not charge me any additional money. Overall these guys were professional, courteous, and efficient and they kept to their agreement of the flat rate that was originally quoted to me. With moving being as stressful as it is, these guys made it as easy as possible and I would highly recommend them.

They told us about the problem -- and then headed out the door to the hardware store to buy a replacement at their own cost. If you take it, we recommend that you go for a policy offering full replacement cost. PackingWho should deal with all the boxes, bubble wrap and tape? While it costs more to have the moving company pack, (supposedly) they have expertise in packing, and the items in your boxes are only covered for damage under the mover's insurance policy if the mover does the packing (more on this later). Generally, though, most people prefer to pack things themselves. Doing so allows you to create detailed inventories for each box. These can be helpful once you arrive at your new home and really, really need a glass, a plate (or some toilet paper!). Movers, on the other hand, pack things where they find them. So if you leave a sweater in the kitchen on moving day, you are likely to find it with the pots and pans and not with the rest of your clothes. Whether or not you pack yourself, the mover should make a list of all the items to be moved, noting existing scratches and other damage. Review this list carefully before you sign it. Make sure that every box and stick of furniture is accounted for and that the condition of each item is described accurately. Hidden ChargesBeware the cost of packing supplies! Most moving companies will happily provide you with supplies such as tape and boxes, usually with a significant mark-up over their cost. Even if you pack yourself, the movers will use tape to wrap blankets around furniture -- and trust us - - they will use plenty of it! Make sure you agree in advance on what supplies will cost you, since even these small charges can add up to a hefty fee. Filing a ComplaintYou've finally reached your new home, only to discover that something is missing or the contents of a box are severely damaged. If the company's representatives are still on-site, discuss the situation with them, and, if necessary, phone their supervisors. If it cannot be resolved right away, make a notation of the problem on the invoice when you sign it. Remember that the contents of boxes may not be insured if you packed them. But if you can prove that there is damage to the box itself, indicating that it was mishandled, you may be reimbursed for your loss. Make sure you hold on to the damaged box, since the insurer may want to witness the actual damage. If the mover will not resolve your complaint, you will need to take further action. Call the DOT at (718) 482-4810. You may also want to inform the Better Business Bureau, the Department of Consumer Affairs and other agencies of the company's actions. In each complaint, be sure to include documentation, such as the detailed moving list, which supports your case. Consider paying your mover with a credit card (most companies accept them) rather than in cash or by check, since it will make withholding payment easier. As with other consumer problems, you should alert your credit card company of the dispute if you plan to withhold payment. I have had horrific experiences with moving companies in the past and was really hesitant in calling another one. I took a chance and called Manhattan Movers Inc. and I honestly am so happy that I did. Everything went smoothly from calling up to get an estimate to the actual move. The owner was so friendly and the workers were so professional. Even though one worker was clumsy and broke my wife's vase, Manhattan Movers Inc. did everything they could to repay me for that, they were truly sorry and even deducted from the bill. They really care about their customers, and the total bill did not exceed the quoted amount, unlike what other moving companies have done to me. I could not have asked for more in a moving company, this is great service at its best.

All the employees involved with our move, Mike for the estimate, and Sam, James, and Arthur for moving were professional, courteous & friendly. All knew their jobs and performed them most capably. I've moved several times in the past, most of the time with different companies but I just had the best move of my life last week with Manhattan Movers Inc. Mike gave us a guaranteed price over the phone and helped us plan our move. Soon their local dispatch called us and confirmed the job and went over the details. He also seemed very polite and professional and assured us everything is going as it planned and the movers will come tomorrow @ 9 am. Not only did they show up on time but they packed nearly our entire apartment. Shortly after arriving Sam the foreman provided us with detailed information about the day and they started to work right away. Thank god they came with extra boxes and moving supplies and actually that we didn't even realize we will be needed! The packing obviously took much longer but once we arrived at our house they unpacked us in record time and even helped us to reassemble our furniture. This was a painless move and really had a great time with the movers.

My parents persuaded me into hiring a moving company, which I was so opposed to, but realized I had no choice. Manhattan City Movers - New York Movers came to my rescue, literally. Their price was the cheapest I found and their services were exquisite. I actually had a great time with the crew, they were so hilarious!!! We even took a break and I ordered and treated them to lunch, it was well earned. They moved quick and efficiently, was there a scratch on anything? NO. Did anything get damaged? NO..it was great and the move took less than 6 hours!! I thank my parents everyday for convincing me to hire these people."

I wanted to write to thank you for the superior service you provided in moving several pieces of furniture from New York to Brooklyn. The furniture was part of my deceased father's estate and I had no idea how I was going to get it to my home. I was almost to the point of renting a U-Haul and moving it myself when I found Cheap Moving Company New York on the web. Your company was Fantastic! When I moved 3 years ago, I used another company and it was a disaster. I even had one of the movers drop a chair on my feet.....no, I'm not kidding. I was just glad he wasn't standing on the Street when he did so. The 3 gentlemen that moved me were wonderful! They put everything where I wanted it and they were such a pleasure to work with. They had me loaded up w/in about an hour and were just as quick getting me unloaded. They were very friendly and courteous and my 11 year old daughter was exchanging recipes with one of the fellas. Very nice crew you have working for you! The office staff was fabulous! I changed the items I was going to move like 4 times and each time they sent me a revised quote. The day before the move the office called just to make sure I didn't have any questions. I've never had a moving company do that before. Just a real pleasure to work with. Excellent Service, top of the line customer service,

I moved last month in the same building, from one floor to another. I read the reviews on this site and called Cheap Moving Company New York at 1-800-311-9850. They gave me an estimate on the phone after asking a few questions about what I had in the house. I signed the contract and that was it. On the day of the move, there was some kind of miscommunication within the company and they had me scheduled for the following day. I could not do it as I had taken off from work that day. The manager and part owner worked something up, pulled more guys from another job and was able to accomodate me on that same day. The guys showed up, after having planned to be done for that day. They were as pleasant as can be. They worked very hard, always with a smile and completed the job to the last item. They were exteremely efficient, and did an amazing job. I highly recommend these guys, they are the best. Extremely professional.
